Steve Zaroff
Chief Strategy Officer, McCann North America
Steve joined McCann in 2012 as Chief Strategy Officer of the New York agency with strategic responsibility for the agency’s diverse portfolio of clients. In 2016, he was promoted to Chief Strategy Officer of McCann North America with responsibility for overseeing the strategic direction of McCann key North American clients across McCann NY, Casanova//McCann, McCann Detroit, twofifteenmccann, McCann Minneapolis and McCann Canada.
His belief, fostered through his posts at McCann as well as past posts at such agencies as Sapient Nitro, Ogilvy and TBWA, is that modern marketing requires a combination of digital, social, and big-brand expertise. It also requires passion about people, about culture, and about how media and technology fuel brands and businesses.
Steve has had more than 20 years of agency experience as a planner and strategist. Prior to joining McCann, he was Head of Strategy for the digital shop, SapientNitro. His career began at Deutsch, working on such brands as Ikea, Tangueray Gin and Wolfgang Puck. Later at Ogilvy & Mather, where he became the youngest senior partner in the firm’s history, he led a wide variety of global brands and created the first-ever global brand and portfolio management strategy for American Express. At TBWA/Chiat Day he led the strategy for Miller Brewing. At Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners, he led the financial services practice, working with clients such as Edward Jones and Liberty Mutual Insurance.
