Spawn Ideas
Karen King is president and CEO of Spawn Ideas, an advertising agency with offices in Anchorage, AK; Denver, CO; and Seattle, WA.
Under Karen’s leadership, attention to Spawn’s already vital culture has amplified. A comprehensive list of benefits, many connected to lifestyle, has led to the Agency’s ongoing distinction as one of Outside Magazine’s “100 Best Places to Work in America” (five years’ running). And, in 2015, the Center for Generational Kinetics named Spawn among “75 Best Places to Work for Millennials in America.”
Spawn is a fully integrated and employee-owned ad agency living the dream in enviable lifestyle locales. The Agency’s conference rooms are “hatcheries,” coveted underground parking comes with a monthly “King Salmon” award, and Spawn recently launched a Design Thinking practice called Hooligan. Clients are in the Outdoor, Energy, Health, Tech and Education verticals.
Karen is an active volunteer with the United Way, Anchorage Rotary Club and Nature Conservancy of Alaska. She is also the board-based CFO of Erik’s Ranch & Retreats, residence and life-long learning centers for young adults with Autism.
