Charlie is the 2nd generation leader of The Tombras Group, a family-owned agency founded in 1946. Listed as one of the top 25 independent agencies in North America, the 220-employee agency has offices in Knoxville, Nashville, Louisville and Washington, DC. A graduate of the University of Tennessee and a former Airborne/Ranger Lieutenant in the US Army and veteran of Vietnam, Charlie has over 50 years of advertising experience. The Tombras Group is an Ad Age National Small Agency of the Year award winner, and their creative work has been recognized in ADWEEK, Ad Age, Communication Arts and Archive. He is an inductee to the AAF Hall of Fame and recipient of the Bob McCabe Silver Medal Award for outstanding contribution to the advertising industry. Charlie’s marketing accomplishments include the initial world test-market launch of McDonald’s Chicken Nuggets and national communications programs for Coca-Cola, Aveda, Warsteiner Beer, Michelin, MoonPie, U.S. Cellular, BUSH’s Beans, ESPN and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
